What vaccines are mandatory for traveling to Oman?
The only mandatory vaccine for traveling to Oman is for yellow fever, in case you are coming from a country at risk of transmitting this disease. This requirement applies if you have visited any country in Africa or certain nations in South America. In such cases, you must present an international vaccination certificate confirming that you have received the vaccine.
That being said, it is always recommended to visit an international vaccination center, where a doctor can prescribe the most appropriate vaccines based on the type of travel and the immunizations already administered. It is advisable to keep general vaccines up to date (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, hepatitis B, and MMR) and consider vaccines against typhoid fever and hepatitis A. For people in high-risk groups or based on traveler characteristics, it is also advisable to assess the need for vaccines against rabies, influenza, pneumococcus, and meningococcal meningitis. Additionally, taking preventive measures against mosquito bites is recommended due to the presence of dengue and malaria.
As for the coronavirus vaccine, it is not a mandatory requirement for traveling to Oman at present. Although it is safe to travel to Oman, as anywhere in the world, there is a risk of contagion, so it is always advisable to consider it.
